Article 300: Wiring Methods

Article 300 covers wiring methods for all installations unless modified by other articles in the Code.

 

I. General Requirements (300.1 Through 300.23)

Part I covers conductors permitted to be run together and conductors that must be kept separated. It also covers protection of conductors and wiring methods against physical and environmental damage, securing and supporting of conductors, and minimizing the spread of flame and smoke in the event of fire.

 

II. Requirements for Over 600 Volts, Nominal (300.31 Through 300.50)

Part II provides additional rules for high-voltage conductors and underground installations, both direct burial and in raceways.
