New Combined UL Mark for Europe, Canada, and the United States
Now products in compliance with UL's Listing and Follow-Up Service for Canada and the United States as well as UL's EU Mark service and factory inspection requirements for Europe are eligible to bear the combined UL Mark for Europe, Canada and the United States. This mark is a step toward addressing customer desire for a single certification mark for multiple key markets. The mark builds on UL's combined UL certification marks for Canada and the United States and is the first transcontinental mark in the UL portfolio.

NEW three-day seminars. NFPA will offer two-day seminars on electrical safety in the workplace that focus on compliance with OSHA 1910 for general industry and OSHA 1926 for construction. Plus, add a third day and be eligible for the NFPA 70E® Electrical Safety Specialist Certificate. UL University - National Electrical Code for Photovoltaics
UL University offers a workshop on using the NEC and designing and installing photovoltaic (PV) systems. Conductor selection, ampacity calculations, overcurrent devices, and disconnects will be covered, along with utility-interactive systems. NFPA's New Electrical Safety PSA
The National Fire Protection Association is encouraging you to get grounded in the basics of electrical safety, and introducing their spokesperson for electrical safety, Dan Doofus.
According to the NFPA, electrical distribution and lighting equipment were involved in an estimated 20,900 reported home structure fires in 2005. These fires resulted in 500 civilian deaths and 1,100 civilian injuries, with $862 million in direct property damage.
